Schools' Exam Changes

School’s Exam Changes

As we move into the start of the busy school year, we wanted to alert our families that there have been some changes at some of the schools in regard to the types of exams and the dates have been set for the Selective High Schools.

We are aware that:

ü  Balwyn High School is now doing HAST (ACER) exams for entry into their SEAL program

ü  Camberwell Girls’ Grammar is using AAS for their scholarship exams

ü  St Catherine’s School, Toorak is also now doing an AAS exam

Most government schools do not announce their dates and exam provider until February when school is back for students. We remind parents that schools sometimes change exam providers and dates from one year to the next, so please check the school’s website regularly.

The Victorian Department of Education has released the examination date for the Selective Entry High Schools - Year 9 entry in 2019 into:

  • Melbourne High School,
  • Mac.Robertsons' Girls High School
  • Suzanne Cory High School
  • Nossal High School

Applications close: Friday 11 May, 2018

Examination outcome and notification sent to parents: Thursday 9 August, 2018.
